Privacy Policy for Trollol

Trollol is a local-only fishing trip recorder. This Privacy Policy explains what information the app uses and how it is handled.
Information Trollol Uses
Trollol may use the following information when you choose to use the related features:
- Location data: Precise location, speed, heading, timestamps, and recent route points are used to record trolling tracks and the locations of fishing events and marks. During an active trip, location may be accessed in the background so tracking can continue while the screen is off or the app is not visible.
- Microphone audio: If voice activation is enabled, Trollol listens for the “fish on” wake phrase. Audio is processed on the device in real time. Trollol does not save microphone recordings or transmit audio off the device.
- Fishing and trip data: Trip times, track points, fish events, catches, marks, notes, setup details, and related condition snapshots you enter or generate are stored on your device.
- App preferences: Settings such as tutorial progress, permission prompts, map display choices, alert sounds, and voice activation preferences are stored on your device.
How Information Is Used
This information is used only to provide Trollol’s features, including:
- recording and displaying trip tracks;
- marking fishing events, bait, fish, and waypoints;
- creating trip summaries and fishing reports;
- detecting the optional voice activation phrase; and
- remembering app settings.
Local Storage and Data Collection
Trollol does not require an account and does not operate a backend or cloud-sync service. Trip data and app preferences are stored locally on your device. The developer does not receive, collect, sell, rent, or use this information for advertising or tracking.
Sharing
Trollol lets you copy or share a fishing report through your device’s sharing tools. Sharing occurs only when you choose it. The selected app or service receives the report under its own privacy policy.
Trollol also contains links to third-party weather and lake-information websites. If you open one, your browser and the website may process information under their own privacy policies. Trollol does not control those services.
Permissions
Depending on your device and enabled features, Trollol may request permission for precise and background location, microphone access, notifications, and exemption from battery optimization. Notifications and battery settings help keep trip recording running reliably. You can manage permissions in your device settings, but disabling them may prevent related features from working.
Data Retention and Deletion
Locally stored data remains on your device until you delete it with available app controls, clear Trollol’s app data, or uninstall the app. Because the developer does not receive your data, the developer cannot retrieve or delete it remotely.
Security
Trollol relies on the security protections provided by your device and operating system. No storage method can be guaranteed to be completely secure, so you should protect access to your device.
Children’s Privacy
Trollol is not directed to children under 13, and the developer does not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Changes to This Policy
This policy may be updated if Trollol’s features or data practices change. The effective date above will be revised when an update is made.
